Carnaval SF

Join Grand Marshal/Oakland's own Barbara Lee for San Francisco's take on this fine tradition of teeny-tiny spangly outfits paired with dancing! dancing! dancing! at the Carnaval SF parade, featuring over 80 groups sambaing up 24th and down Mission [map].

The Carnaval SF Festival, held all day Saturday and Sunday, offers food, music, arts and more along the five blocks of Harrison between 16th and 23rd Streets.

Church of Craft

The San Francisco chapter of the Church of Craft meets at Rock Paper Scissors Collective this Sunday for a free one-hour granny square-making workshop at noon followed by an afternoon of crafting and potluck (1-5pm).

Community craft meets are a great opportunity for those who have a million projects going on at once but never seem to have time to finish any of them, and for people who like being with other people.

The Church of Craft meets monthly, visit their site for more information and to sign up for their newsletter.
